Uplifting Odd News - Be part of a virtual choir of thousands!

Often the Odd things awarded on this site are weird, silly, or even sometimes kind of gross.  The Odd News Awardee this time is none of those things. It is cool and uplifting and I encourage musicians everywhere to try and duplicate the efforts of Eric Whitacre in their favorite form of music.  Here is a brief explanation of what Mr. Whitacre did to assemble a huge virtual choir.


   


If I read and heard correctly elsewhere, Eric Whitacre's virtual choir for his piece "Sleep" was something around 2,000 members strong!  Way to Go! This deserves an Odd News Award because it is so unique and utilizes "out-of-the-box" thinking, technology, and a bit of a glimpse into an interesting possible aspect of our near future.  Here is a video of "Sleep" :
