An Odd News Award: A Vegan's Obscene Personalized License Plate Request Denied

USA Today garners an Odd News Award today for their report about an obscene personalized license plate. This is funny only because it is totally innocent. A 38-year-old affirmed vegan in Colorado wanted to let the driving world know that she loves Tofu. To shout this to the world this lady requested a personalized license plate that would read "ILVTOFU." Clearly, "ILVTOFU" would send the message "I Love Tofu," right? You Tofu lovers are saying: "Darn right!" Can you believe, the Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles denied the personalized plate as obscene. They explained that the plate might be misinterpreted as "I love to FU" which in some circles has absolutely nothing to do with the cherished Tofu.
