As if the guy pretending to be a waiter in New Jersey (yesterday's odd news award) wasn't a bold enough fake occupational move. Today the Southern Ledger reports that there is a Cuban national in Los Angeles who got tired of waiting to be deported and decided to collect thousands of dollars in legal fees while pretending to be a licensed immigration lawyer. This gentleman avoided detection for a while by changing his name to a name similar to bonafide lawyer's name and by using a valid California bar number. Some might argue that at least the man was gainfully employed and helping to alleviate the problems associated with illegal immigration. Wonder why the article did not mention whether he did a good job representing his clients? Does his win-loss record matter? And you have to remember that some might think that by this criminal choosing to pretend to be a lawyer he really did not miss his true calling by very much. Honestly, this guy has got to be one of the most despicable dishonest people on the planet. I wonder if the justice system will even be able to attempt to right the potentially many wrongs that he has done to so many fellow immigrants?
